Origin Notes and History:

Babine Lake Marine Park established by Order in Council 0681, 21 May 1993, being 2 sites at Pendleton Bay, the whole containing 36.9 ha. A site at Smithers Landing was added by OIC 0789, 14 June 1993, the whole containing 157.8 ha. more or less. Sites at Hook (Deep) Bay, Pierre Creek, Pinkut Creek and Sandpoint were added per Bill 15-2001: Protected Areas of British Columbia Amendment Act, 2001, 11 April 2001; the whole now containing 492 ha. more or less. All 6 sites redescribed per Bill 50-2004: Parks and Protected Areas Statutes Amendment Act, 17 May 2004.
