No known local name according to Parks Staff and Gold River Historical Society. Suggested by Lindsay Elms, Strathcona Park Lodge, to recall the contributions to the planning & interpretation of Strathcona Park by Mr. W.W. Urquhart and Mr. W.R. Kent (first names unknown). During the summers of 1913 - 1916, under the direction of Park Planner Reginald Thomson, Mr. Urquhart led the topographical survey party charged with mapping the area; Mr. W.R. Kent accompanied the party as official photographer. An undated diazo map of Strathcona Park held in the Provincial Archives identifies Urquhart as "topographer"; Mr. Kent's 560+ photos are also in the Archives. PABC GR 1558 : field notes, diary. Based on Kent's 1913 and 1914 photos taken from their summmits, Kent & Urquhart are credited with first ascents of the following peaks: Puzzle Mtn, Kings Peak, El Piveto, Mt. DeVoe, Mt. Laing, Mt. Filberg, Mt. Cobb, Mt. Con Reid and Mt. Burman. The personal recollections of Einar Anderson, then a teenaged lineman under the supervision of Mr. Urquhart in the summer of 1916, are on file B.1.38.
