"McCombe Lake (not Cedar Swamp nor Trout Lake)" adopted 8 March 1989 on 92G/7, as submitted by J. Bruce Prior as part of a package resulting from a 3-day expedition along the Fraser River Divide.

After Bob McCombe, foreman of Tunnel Camp, who lived beside the lake with his family from 1911-1929. He died just prior to WWII. Mr. McCombe's memoirs at Simon Fraser University Archives detail the area and conditions of the time.
