Simson Park was established by Order in Council 609, 19 March 1986. Name and status changed to Simson Marine Park 22 August 1988 on 92G/5. Conversion of OIC to Statute designation per Bill 17-2000: Protected Areas of British Columbia Act, 29 June 2000; the whole containing 461 ha. more or less.
