"Cariboo Lake (not Caribou)" adopted in the 18th Report of the Geographic Board of Canada, 31 March 1924, as labelled on Trutch's 1871 map of British Columbia, and on Bowman's 1887 map of Cariboo Mining District, etc. Re-approved 28 April 1936 on 93A/11. Cariboo Lake [singular], not Cariboo Lakes confirmed 4 May 1990 on 93 A/14 & 93 A/11.
