Chischa Creek adopted in the 1930 BC Gazetteer, as labelled on BC map 1H, 1917; not Chistcha Creek as had been spelled on Sketch map of Peace River District, 1913-14. Form of name changed to Chischa River 25 November 1944 on 94/NW.
