Probably refers to Kenneth M. Birley and his wife Mary, who homesteaded NW 1/4, Sec 22, Tp 83, R 18, W6M, and obtained title by Crown Grant 7 July 1915. Birley eventually owned all the land on the west side of Allens Coulee. Their son, Rifleman Harold Derek Birley was killed in action at Normandy (see Birley Creek).
