Origin Notes and History:

Birkenhead Lake Park established per OIC 2604, 10 August 1963, containing 3,642 ha. Increased in size to include Sockeye Creek area, per Park Amendment Act 1997, 23 July 1997, the whole now containing 9,755 ha. Boundary redescribed per Bill 38-2008: Protected Areas
of British Columbia (Conservancies and Parks) Amendment Act, 23 May 2008; the whole now containing approximately 10,439 hectares.
