Origin Notes and History:
Kahylskt River adopted in the 1930 BC Gazetteer, as labelled on Trutch's 1871 map of British Columbia (file B.1.35). Spelled "Kahylklst River" on Lands map Bella Coola, 1905. Form of name changed to Kahylskt Creek 13 March 1947 on 93SW. Name changed to Burnt Bridge Creek 2 July 1953 on 93D, the well-established, preferred local name.
