Queen Charlotte Mountains adopted 14 June 1946 on 103SE, as identified in the 1930 BC Gazetteer. Form of name changed to Queen Charlotte Ranges 3 March 1949 on C.3844. Queen Charlotte Mountains was reinstated 9 May 1966 on 103SE at 53 00 - 132 00 and at the same time Queen Charlotte Ranges was designated as a subdivision of Queen Charlotte Mountains. Queen Charlotte Ranges was rescinded 12 December 1978 on 103B-C.
