In association with the 1974 British Columbia Expedition by the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne Exploration Society: "this name is meant to typify the mysteries of the area and especially this mountain. It is also meant to have a connection with our society in the same way that Fusilier Peak on the opposite side of the valley has a connection with the Royal Fusilliers who made the first ascent." (December 1974 letter from P.C. Rogers, leader of the expedition, file T.1.53).
