Lund (Post Office & Settlement) adopted in the 1930 BC Gazetteer. Form of name changed to Lund (Settlement) 27 April 1945 on C.3591, then to Lund (Post Office & Steamer Landing) 2 November 1950 on 92 F, then to Lund (Community) 31 January 1983 on 92F/15.

When brothers Frederick and Charles Thulin settled here in December 1889, they named their home after Lund, the city in Sweden from which they had come. For lack of other transportation they sometimes had to row to Vancouver and back.
