Established by Order in Council 490, 3 March 1983, containing 49,600 hectares more or less. Area added per OIC 1183, 10 August 1989, the whole containing 49,800 hectares more or less. Area added per Bill 86, Park Amendment Act 1999, 28 June 1999, the whole now containing 49,893 hectares more or less. Boundary redescribed per Bill 50-2004: Parks and Protected Areas Statutes Amendment Act, 17 May 2004; the whole now containing approximately 49,979 hectares (49,729 hectares of upland and 250 hectares of foreshore). Boundary redescribed per Bill 15: Protected Areas of British Columbia Amendment Act, 19 May 2010, the whole now containing approximately 50,060 hectares. Boundary redescribed 10 March 2022 per Bill 3: Protected Areas of British Columbia Amendment Act, 2022; an addition of 32 hectares of land that the Ministry purchased in 2020; the whole now containing approximately 50,092 hectares.
