Origin Notes and History:

"The name...appears to have been in use certainly since 1957 ..." (Hiking Trails III - Central & Northern Vancouver Island, ed.5, 1982, p.44). Named in association with nearby Crest Lake, located on the Vancouver Island Divide, in turn named by N.C. Stewart, BCLS, while conducting topographic surveys and explorations in this area, in 1936 and 1937.
