Named in association with Zeballos Arm, in turn named in 1791 by Captain Malaspina, after Lieutenant Ciriaco Cevallos, an officer in Malaspina's expedition, consisting of the corvettes Descubierta and Atrevida [Zeballos being another spelling for Cevallos.]
