The Nisga'a call the river Ksi W'iipdalks (referring to bog cranberry). A site where the historic Grease Trail [called by the Nisga'a Genim Sgeenix] crosses this river - and is still preserved in an undisturbed state - is of cultural and historic significance to the Nisga'a Nation; a 1-hectare site will be designated as a Provincial Heritage Site under the terms of the Nisga'a Final Agreement, Appendix F-1, effective 11 May 2000.
