Atna Peak adopted in the 1930 BC Gazetteer; confirmed 14 June 1946 on 103/SE and 2 October 1952 on 103H, referring to the highest peak in the area.

Elevation identified as 9040 feet on Frank Swannell's 1926 plan, # 14T1 Topo; name misapplied to a minor summit about 1/3 mile north of the main peak on 103 H/16, edition 1.
