Name suggested by Mr. D.F. Kidd, mining geologist of Vancouver who was in this area in 1944, after the late Dr. Forrest Alexander Kerr, who mapped the geology of the lower Iskut for Geological Survey of Canada. Mr. Kidd reports the local name to be 'Sandbar' Creek.
