Origin Notes and History:

Established by Order in Council 25 November 1947. Redescribed per OIC 2325/87. Conversion of OIC to Statute designation per Bill 17-2000: Protected Areas of British Columbia Act, 29 June 2000; the whole containing 40 ha. more or less. Kitsumkalum orginated as the name of an indigenous community and means "the people who dwell on the edge of a cliff."
