Thornhill Creek adopted in the 1930 BC Gazetteer, as labelled on BC map 3M, 1916. Confirmed 2 June 1950 and 4 October 1951 on 103I. Application of mid-stream portion altered 8 February 1988 on 103I/7. Application of headwaters extended 5 September 1989 to a swampy area on 103I/8.
