"Hall (station), not Hall's" adopted 2 March 1948 on 82F/6 as identified in the 1930 BC Gazetteer. Form of name changed to Hall (locality) 16 December 1975 on 82F/6.

Hall Post Office was opened 1 May 1898 on the Nelson & Fort Shepherd branch of the Great Northern Railway; closed 8 January 1904; re-opened 1 October 1914 at Lot 1241 on the GNR line; closed 31 March 1925. Had been labelled "Halls" on BC Mines map of East & West Kootenay Districts, 1898, and on Geological Survey of Canada map West Kootenay, 1908, and on BC maps 4B, 1912 and 1EM, 1915.
