"...after J.J. Trorey, a founding member of the Vancouver Mountaineering Club (now known as the B.C. Mountaineering Club). Trorey was given credit for forming the original BCMC in 1907, as quoted by B.F. Dickens in a June 1937 conversation with Vancouver City Archivist J.S. Mathews. (from Fred Mills memoirs, and notes from B.F. Dickens, compiled by Mills' grandson David Grantham, and provided May 2006)
