Named to remember Canadian Army Rifleman Nickolas Sawitsky, K4093, enlisted at Vancouver; serving with Regina Rifle Regiment, RCIC, when he was killed in action 16 August 1944. Rfn. Sawitsky is buried at Bretteville-Sur-Laize Canadian War Cemetery, Calvados, France, grave IX. F. 2.
