Re-named to avoid confusion with numerous other "Sawmill" creeks, after Samuel Withrow, settler here in the 1870s. [note: three children born to Samuel and Isabella (Dunlevy) Winslow; all baptised at St. Joseph's Mission, Williams Lake, in 1883 & 1885; Samuel Withrow died 2 January 1901 at Vancouver, age 67 (BC Archives Microfilm Number B13093).]
