Origin Notes and History:

Brodie Rock adopted in the 1930 BC Gazetteer. Name changed to Nepean Rock 6 April 1950 on C.3742, as labelled on early Admiralty Charts (date/title not cited).

Named in 1788 by Captain Duncan, after Evan Nepean who, on the resignation of Sir Philip Stevens in 1795, succeeded as secretary to the British Admiralty.
