Cultus is a Chinook Jargon word meaning worthless, good-for-nothing; in this case presumably signifying the most treacherous of three approaches to Hunter Channel and Bella Bella. Sans Peur Passage (meaning "without fear") connects Cultus Sound and Hunter Channel.
