Origin Notes and History:

Gwillim Lake Recreation Area established by Order in Council 485, 10 February 1971. Status changed to a Class A provincial park, to be known as Gwillim Lake Park per OIC 2467, 26 November 1981. Redescribed per OIC 1201/90. Conversion of OIC to Statute designation per Bill 17-2000: Protected Areas of British Columbia Act, 29 June 2000; the whole containing 32,326 ha. more or less.
