Origin Notes and History:

Adopted 1 February 1927 on Hydrographic Services Chart #326, "Laredo Sound and approach," confirmed 8 June 1946 on Hydrographic Services Chart 3728 and 4 September 1952 on 103A. Kitasu is derived from the Tsimshian word "gidestsu."
