Origin Notes and History:

Edwards Mountains adopted 11 August 1921 on Geological Survey pub#1945, North Thompson sheet (GSC Summary Report 1921, Pt.A, p.72), applying to a 4 mile ridge on the west side of Louis Creek approximately opposite the mouths of Fadear and Fraser Creeks. Form of name changed to Mount Edwards 3 March 1955 on 92P, but owing to incomplete contour information, the label incorrectly positioned at 51°05' x 120°05' on 92P/1. Application altered 7 March 1963 to 51°04' x 120°04' being the highest summit between Louis and Badger Creeks, as intended in 1955. Origin/significance of name not recorded.
