After Oscar Olander, a Swede, who arrived in Kitsumkalum about 1900. Mr. Monckton and his survey party used to stay with Mr. Olander. He was killed a few years ago (about 1950 or 1952?) in a logging accident, when a load of logs rolled on him. (information provided April 1956 by P.M. Monckton, BCLS)
