Named to remember Canadian Army Rifleman Marcel Max Cubitt Girard, K3124, enlisted at New Westminster. Serving with Royal Winnipeg Rifles, RCIC, at the Battle of the Rhineland when he was killed in action 16 February 1945, age 28. Buried at Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery, Netherlands, grave XXV, C, 16. Survived by wife Annie P. Girard, and parents Max and Edith Girard, all of Vancouver.
