Named to remember Royal Canadian Air Force Leading Aircraftman Nicholas Somolenko, R143027, from New Westminster; flying air operations over Europe when his aircraft was shot down 7 June 1944. With no known grave LAC Somolenko's name is inscribed on the Runnymede Memorial, Surrey, UK, panel 256. Survived by parents John and Ephresinia Somolenko, New Westminster.
