Named to remember Canadian Army Gunner Frederick Samuel Lomas, K24159, enlisted at Vancouver. Gnr Lomas was serving with 5 Anti-Tank Rgmt, Royal Canadian Artillery, in the advance from Normandy to close the Falaise Gap when he was killed in action 19 August 1944. Buried at Bretteville-Sur-Laize Canadian War Cemetery, grave XVIII, A, 14.
