During discussions with the Perry brothers... they stated that this name originated from a remark made by Billy Poole who prospected in Nootka Sound many years ago. He had spent many weary and unsuccessful hours searching for gold in this creek and finally, frustrated and angry, he shook his fist a t the creek and shouted, "You be damned!".
