Origin Notes and History:

Irvine's Landing (Post Office, settlement, steamer landing) adopted in the 1930 BC Gazetteer. Form of name changed to Irvines Landing (Post Office) 28 July 1945 on C.3579. Irvines Landing (Post Office) and Pender Harbour (steamer landing) confirmed 2 November 1950 on 92F, located in the same place. Incorrectly listed as Irvines (landing) in the 1973 through 1976 supplements to the 1966 BC Gazetteer; listed as Irvines Landing (landing) in the 1977 Supplement. Form of name changed to Irvines Landing (locality) 15 February 1983 on 92F/9.

Irvine's Landing Post Office opened 1 August 1897, named after early family who settled in the area. Note that C.C. Irvine was postmaster from 1 July 1903 to 14 June 1904. Post Office closed 12 October 1966.
