Local name. Headwaters changed from east branch to west branch. Although this is sometimes said to have been named after Canon G.H. Wilson of St. Michael's Anglican Church, Vancouver, who built a cottage on a lot which he bought here in1914, the original Wilson of Wilson Creek appears to have been James Wilson who in the 1890's was a blacksmith in the Burns & Jackson logging camp here.
