Egmont (Settlement and Post Office) adopted 12 December 1939 on 92SE, located on the east side of the Narrows as labelled on BC Map 20, 1912. Form of name changed to Egmont (Post Office) 3 April 1959, and repositioned on the west side of the Narrows. Form of name changed to Egmont (community) 31 December 1982 on 92 G/12.
