After Brigadier-General Frederick L. Burnham, MD, who operated Halcyon Hot Springs from March 1924 until his untimely death in the fire that destroyed the Halcyon Hot Springs Hotel in 1955. Described as a philanthropist and a tireless worker against rheumatic and arthritic diseases.
