Description of the diversion of Burman Lake published in Victoria Colonist 17 October 1965, Islander section p.13: geological findings indicate Burman Lake once fed Wolf River; BC Hydro constructed a dam to halt the easterly flow of water from the lake, and diverted water west through the canyon.
