Tranquille (Post Office) adopted 2 March 1950 on 92I, as labelled on Dominion Sectional sheet 111, Kamloops, 1916, and on BC map 4M, Nicola, 1927. Form of name changed to Tranquille (community) 15 March 1983 on 92I/10. See Tranquille River for origin information.
