After the Reverend Victor Sebastian Rohr, OMI, who spent 40 years in British Columbia. Rohr was born 21 January 1873 at Sarrequemines, Lorraine and arrived in BC before the turn of century; he had returned to Lorraine for a visit in 1938 and was detained there when WWII broke out. Kept the French flag flying in his church throughout the war and was of great assistance to Allied flyers. Rohr was made a honourary colonel in the US Army by General Collins.
