Origin Notes and History:
Established per OIC 174, 18 May 1973. Boundary extended to include Desolation Sound Marine Recreation Area per OIC 1201, 2 August 1990, the whole containing 8,256 ha. more or less. Addition of the Curme Islands area per Bill 29: Park Amendment Act 1997, 23 July 1997, the whole now containing 8,449 ha. more or less
