Origin Notes and History:

Pleasant Camp (Customs and RCMP Post) identified in the 1930 BC Gazetteer, located just inside the BC-Alaska boundary adjacent to the Haines Road. Pleasant Camp (locality) adopted 23 May 1963 and coordinates confirmed at 59 27 - 136 22 on 114P/8 (ie. just inside the BC-Alaska boundary adjacent to the Haines Road). Altered application 18 October 1966 to 59 32 - 136 28 on 114P/9, being the location of the new Pleasant Camp Post Office, at Milepost 48 on the Haines Road. Application altered 26 February 1987 on 114P/9 to 59 30 18 -136 27 47.

Pleasant Camp Post Office was opened 9 November 1965, located at Mile 48, Haines Road, about 6 1/2 miles northwest of Pleasant Camp (locality). Post office closed 29 April 1972.
