Named by brothers Curtis and Louis David Hitchner, involved with real estate, logging and a sawmill, who came from Kansas, c1907. They first named their subdivision Glencoe, but as the PO authorities objected, since the name was already in use elsewhere, they changed it to Glenrosa.
