Origin Notes and History:
Adoped 29 July 1946 in 92E/15 as an established name as listed in 1930 Gazetteer and as labeled on Reference Map 2C "Vancouver Island, Northerly" (1919, 1929) and likely on British Admiralty Chard 569 (title/date not cited). Well established local useage, dating back to Captain Richard's Chart (1862).
