Shuswap Lake Marine Park established by Order in Council 1050, 9 May 1980, comprising 14 sites. Boundaries extended to include foreshore at each of the 14 sites per OIC 872, 12 May 1988. Boundary extensions to 5 of the sites per OIC 0798, 14 June 1993. Eleven additional sites established per OIC 0796, 14 June 1993. Conversion of OIC to Statute designation per Bill 53: Park Amendment Act 1995, 13 July 1995, the whole now containing 991 ha. more or less. Hermit Bay Site redescribed per Bill 86, Park Amendment Act 1999, 28 June 1999. Two additional sites established per Bill 17-2000: Protected Areas of British Columbia Act, 29 June 2000. Mara Point site added and 4 other sites cancelled or amalgamated per Bill 50-2004: Parks and Protected Areas Statutes Amendment
Act, 17 May 2004. St. Ives site boundary redescribed per Bill 38-2008: Protected Areas of British Columbia (Conservancies and Parks) Amendment Act, 23 May 2008; the whole now containing approximately 894.33 hectares (600.05 hectares of upland and 294.28 hectares of foreshore).
