From most of Vancouver you can see two distinct peaks poised majestically north of the city. The original name for these peaks is Chích'iyuy Elxwí7kn (the Twin Sisters). They are named after the daughters of a high Chieftain who were turned to stone by the supernatural powers of the mighty Transformer Brothers. Each peak represents a sister and to this day the white patch of snow which rests between the peaks serves as a reminder of the white mountain goat wool which the sisters were weaving when they were immortalized as mountains.
