Origin Notes and History:

Established as a Class "C" park per Order in Council 946, 30 July 1940. Upgraded to Class "A" park per OIC 3412, 21 September 1972. Boundary extended per OIC 1586, 9 July 1981, the whole now containing 662 ha. more or less. Boundary adjusted per OIC 677/84. Conversion of OIC to Statute designation, and boundary extended per Bill 86, Park Amendment Act 1999, 28 June 1999, the whole now containing 837 ha. more or less.
