...The name Taurus was given to the mountain by Arthur O. Wheeler during his survey trip across Bugaboo Pass in 1910. Conrad Kain, the famous guide, said once ... that Mr. Wheeler called the mountain 'Taurus because it was like a bull'. To any observer from the Bugaboo region it suggests a bull, if not in exact outline, at least in its general appearance and suggestion of challenging formidability.
