Origin Notes and History:

Okanagan Landing (Post Office, steamer landing, settlement) was adopted in the 1930 BC Gazetteer, as labelled on BC map 1EM, 1916. Form of name changed to Okanagan Landing (Post Office) 7 February 1951 on 82L/SW. Form of name changed to Okanagan Landing (Community) 28 February 1983 on 82L/3. Okanagon Landing Post Office was opened 1 October 1898; Mrs. M. Grant, postmistress. Spelling changed to Okanagan Landing Post Office in 1905.
